If you are bringing your own boat, we have guides for $600 daily who will take around in your boat and teach you about the lake so you may mark spots and learn the lake better.

Crappie fishing is often excellent in September and October because of the cooling water temperatures and the fish’s pre-winter feeding frenzy. As the water cools, crappie move from their summer haunts in deeper water to shallower areas where they actively feed to fatten up before winter. This transition makes them more accessible to anglers and increases their willingness to bite.
While we can not guarantee seeing them, typically, this time of the year the Northern Lights are visible almost nightly.

September and early October is some of the best weather. Imagine cool evening around a bonfire and the great day, typically not too hot, on the lake of out hunting.
We supply towels, bedding, and everything you would want if it was your own cabin, however we don’t provide food or drinks. Please plan to bring those.
In September and October there are very few making it another great reason to visit.
There are 3 ways to get to Oak Island Resort.
1) I recommend driving to Young’s Bay Resort on the Northwest Angle and then either boat over to Oak Island or I will come and pick you up and we all boat over to Oak Island.
2) Boat Taxi from Baudette MN to Oak Island Resort.
3) Fly into International Falls or Winnipeg International airport and then drive up to Young’s Bay Resort and I can pick you up from there.
